WHAT PEOPLE Wrote

A Secret Journey

Your history together brought us to many unknown lands. You left us feeling we witnessed a secret journey. Cats. Ships passing. String. Sisters. Everyone who has peopled this room. Honoring every moment together. Honoring space. Figurative and literal. Timing of join-ups. Use of room. Start > Finish. Complete.

A Miracle in Nature

"Puzzle-like configurations of two bodies coming together. One body moving another, yet not mechanic, but purely organic. Felt like watching a miracle in nature that happened once in a hundred years; like a waterfall full of glowing stars."

"It was beautiful—a cascading shifting relationship with each other and the space that wasn't quite human, in a world where there wasn't quite verticality. But y'all also managed to be firmly connected—an umbilical cord between you. Thank you for your clarity and simplicity of structure; all felt helpful in these dark days. "

SoMa and Chinatown
MLD will be performed at
Willie "Woo Woo" Wong Playground
830 Sacramento St, San Francisco, CA 94108

A site-specific dance by Megan Lowe Dances, created for a beloved community center that has served SF Chinatown for nearly hundred years.

"Presented by Epiphany Dance Theater, SF Trolley Dances is the most delectable moveable dance feast of the season. Using the city as both a backdrop and unpredictable character, the peripatetic event ushers many of the bay area’s top dance companies off the stage and onto the street.” - ANDREW GILBERT East Bay Times

MLD was selected by Epiphany Dance Productions as a SF Chinatown Cultural Bearer. "Cultural Bearers are artists/individuals who hold and express cultural values, customs and practices between communities. Cultural Bearers are integral to our Kids on Track program by broadening student understanding of diverse artists, dance forms, and cultures."

SFTD included performances by: Ballet22, Grrrl Brigade, Charya Burt, Flying Angels Chinese Dance Company, Megan Lowe Dances, and Epiphany Dance Theater.
